Job Description

Events Staff - The 2010 Ryder Cup Celtic Manor, Newport

Starting from 27th September to 3rd October

G4S Events are a market leader in providing 1st class Events Management and Security Services to an ever growing events business, keeping Events safe, secure and enjoyable for all those who attend. We are currently recruiting for The 2010 Ryder Cup in Newport, South Wales and require:

Events Safety Stewards - £6.25 per hour Events Security Stewards (DSL or Security License required) up to £8.50

As a Steward, your main responsibilities will include checking tickets, directing patrons, manning exit doors and gates, and providing general assistance to members of the public. You must be at least 18 years old and ideally, you will have previous stewarding or customer care experience, however this is not essential. An aptitude for working with the public, a friendly, approachable and professional manner are all key. Full training is provided for Events Safety Stewards.

We are also recruiting experienced SIA and Security Licence holders

Things you need to know:

  • The Event itself runs from 1-3 October but we require some staff to start on 27th September

  • You will be working a range of 10 - 12 hour shifts across 24 hour shift pattern

  • You will need to arrange your own transport to and from the Park and Ride locations daily at:

  • €¢ Llanwern Steelworks, Corus, Newport NP19

  • €¢ Usk Showground, Monmouthshire (on A472)

  • €¢ Tredegar House, Coedkernew, Newport NP10

A large percentage of our staff will be working at the designated Park and Ride locations with the remainder working at The Ryder Cup Event at Newport.

We will provide you with packed lunches, water and hot drinks and the necessary uniforms to wear
