Our client, a renowned public service in South Wales, is seeking a technical web developer to work in their Headquarters in Cwmbran. Our client has stated that this role is expected to last until the end of August 2010.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the provision of website application development
  • To assist writing web applications specified by the Marketing Communications Manager, which develop specified websites
  • To assist in the monitoring, testing and evaluation of applications during the development cycle and assisting with post launch support
  • To assist in maintaining security of the website, through their work and through any application development
  • To work collaboratively with the Marketing Communications Manager and other members of the team, maximising transfer of appropriate skills
  • Preferred Skills:

  • Must have highly developed programming skills
  • Must have practical experience of web application development and be competent in working with the following technologies. (HTML, XHTML CSS & web design integration)
  • Must have web design experience, specifically using Dreamweaver
  • Must have a good understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines as documented by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and the UK Government recommendations on accessibility.
  • Experience of developing/ configuring CMS is essential
  • Minimum of one year\'s experience in web development and marketing development
  • Personal Attributes:

  • Must present a positive image, and be aware of the impact of own behaviour on others.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and remain calm and constructive.

  • Normal working week is 37.5 hours based on 5 days, Monday to Friday, £12.00 per hour.
